I’m away into the wild
Humbled, eyes wide, I’m a child
Lost between these boneless wooden arms
Crying out for help? Crawling towards the sun?
Some bent like giant cradling mothers
I’m a baby in our lovely womb
Naked in our echoing decadent room
Eyes wide at the centre of an atom
That one almighty artist
With not a single gallery but a billion tributes
Not a pattern or a picture or a poem was not her idea
Unfolding the gratitude I had tucked in my pocket
In awe, with pride, in fear
So lucky, so lucky to live here.
